Meet our Founder

Zipora Gordon

Educational Consultant, CIPS, Founder and Director

Blessed with an intensely deep inner world, Zipora turned her passion into a mission: to give all children the tools to regulate their emotions and serve Hashem with love and joy.

The result is Nishmasi, which has become her life’s work.

Zipora draws upon her decade of experience as a preschool curriculum developer, her extensive Play Support and Play Therapy education and her work with scores of parents, teachers, children, and professionals, to introduce children to the richness and depth of their inner worlds.

About+us

Meet the team

Sara Miriam Gross, Editor

Sara Miriam is originally from Manhattan and has lived in Israel for many years. She’s an editor, creative writer and copywriter, who is the founder and director of Blue Ocean Books. She is also a certified Narrative Therapist who cares deeply about children’s feelings and loves editing Nishmasi’s high EQ content. She’s the daughter of two business journalists and has been writing for publications since age nine. Her favorite color has been purple for just as long! Sara Miriam’s all-time favorite activity is brainstorming. Fixing colossal mistakes before print is a close second.

Tziry Lunger, Billing Director

Tziry Lunger attended Yeshivas Avir Yaakov in New Square, NY, and is currently the much-beloved billing Director for Nishmasi Programs. Although she toils in paperwork, she loves the sweet Nishmasi children, and recognizes their faces when she passes them in the street! Tziry gets her nachas from being involved in work that builds children's lives, and from hearing glowing reports from mothers who have kids in our programs. She loves looking through the Feeling Class workbooks, and claims that she is not the only adult who gains tremendously from the endearing and educational way they are presented.

Rochel Berger, Designer

Discovering her love for aesthetics in her first job out of school, Rochel launched her freelance design business, RBDesign, in 2006, after completing a course in Graphic Design at Frankel’s Professional Design School. Rochel attributes much of her success to Zipora Gordon due to the trust and confidence she had when Rochel was still a fledgling. More than a decade later, Rochel’s business has grown to include teaching and mentoring graphic design students. Rochel’s professional passion is building a brand from the ground up, but her real inspiration comes from her family. No design ever gave her more pride than her children do, day in, day out.

Kreindy Mayteles, Group Facilitator

Growing up in Monsy as the oldest daughter of a large family, Kreindy witnessed how much her own siblings benefitted from the Ruach U’Neshama groups, and now she is lucky enough to have her dream job, facilitating groups and learning from Zipora Gordon herself! Kreindy is full of energy and sunshine, making her a natural favorite among our little clients. She brings her own special joyful flavor to the groups she facilitates, as she says, “ I feel happy when children feel happy!” Things Kreindy loves include jumping in the rain and the unbelievable atmosphere of positivity and growth in her work at Nishmasi.

Miriam Schonefeld, Group Facilitator

Miriam has been connecting to children on a deep level since she was a child herself, and on a professional level since the eighth grade. In high school, she took all the Special Ed tracks she could, and went on to train in the Son-Rise program for autism. Miriam works in the Son-Rise center, building children on the spectrum with connection, empathy, understanding, and love. Her professional development includes an EFT course, allowing Miriam to connect with a deeper level of acceptance. Miriam believes in letting children be who they are, and when she is not busy building children’s lives, she enjoys coloring and journaling.

Blima Shneelbag, Staff Therapist

Blima loves working with children (and adults-children at heart). There is no better feeling than helping a kid get in touch with emotions and feelings, as well as helping them accept and embrace themselves for who they are. When she helps a kid overcome their fears, she knows she helped save years and possibly generations of suffering. Blima was a Head Start teacher for 17 years and gained tremendous satisfaction in helping kids overcome their challenges. She graduated from Simmons University with an LMSW in 2019 and is happy to be part of Mrs. Gordon's great work. The amount of positivity, self-confidence, skills and tools the kids gain in her groups is a treasure for life.

Rivky Austerlitz, Illustrator

Born artistic, Rivky had her first piece published in 11th grade. She lives in New Square with her husband, a writer and editor in his own right, and her 7 talented children, who are proud to receive their mother’s work in school. Rivky has a creative mind, which often led to daydreaming in school! She started her own company, Artwork by RA. She claims that her perfectionism, together with Zipora Gordon’s easygoing nature, make them a perfect team, and she considers herself lucky to be such an integral part of Nishmasi. Rivky has taken her sensitivity, coupled with her artistic talent, to create all the endearing Nishmasi illustrations, as well as a USB for schools, with pictures of middos, mitzvos, and yomim tovim.

Sara Ferster, Executive Assistant

The product of a large, loving extended family, Sara attributes much of her success at work to the support she gets from her amazing family. After graduating from Bnos Belz elementary and high school, Sara landed her first job as a pre-K teacher in a local school. Sara discovered that she is a fantastic communicator, and is good at customer service. Give her all the tough customers...she can handle it! Sara loves working at Nishmasi because she is able to use her talents and get things done. Sara is passionate about living in the moment, and having things run in a functional, efficient manner. She loves social interaction and a good cup of coffee!
